Stella Oceana has an interesting history. Technically, she was built to be launched in 1991 but her keel was salvaged from a Swedish cargo ship built in 1964. Anna Marie of Donsö, was built in Trellevarvet on the island Kallandsø. She served a tanker ship and transported oil to larger ships located through the Gulf of Bothnia. When surplus to requirements, she was disassembled in 1988 and thus the keel became that of a new boat originally named Ann-Mari of Svendborg, Denmark and then re-named in 2019 as Stella Oceana of Tromsø, Norway.

In 2021 there were several upgrades made to the interior and exterior including the addition of the hot tub, outdoor seating area and kitchen on deck. Below decks, an extra crew cabin, storage room and guest shower were added. The owners have also equipped Stella Oceana with 2 kayaks, 2 stand-up paddle-boards, bluetooth speakers in the saloon and a new generator!
