Join Reminder in her home port of Maldon. A delightful market town based on the East Coast of England tucked up in River Blackwater. Well known for its sea salt production and fishing industries, this part of England is full intricate waterways, tranquil creeks and pretty estuaries, perfect to explore under sail.
Join on Friday evening for supper and meet your crew and fellow voyagers. After supper, enjoy a walk along the Promenade or visit one of the Quayside pubs.
We will leave the Quay around midnight for a night anchorage about an hour away. Up anchor after breakfast on Saturday and head slowly downriver, past Bradwell, Mersea Island and into the Colne. If time allows, you’ll head up the Colne for a shore visit to Wivenhoe. We find a quiet anchorage in Pyefleet Creek in the Colne for dinner and to watch the sunset.
On Sunday, it’s up anchor after breakfast and head back to Maldon, arriving on the afternoon tide on Sunday. The weekends’ itinerary will be determined by the wind and tide. Participation in sailing is voluntary, help hoist the sails and take the wheel, or relax on deck with a book.
