Ocean Mile Builder Blue Clipper 2022

Join tall ship, Blue Clipper, for an Offshore Sailing Experience, sailing from Weymouth to Portimao in Portugal.  A great experience for any sailor wanting to improve their offshore sailing knowledge. It is a great opportunity to build your confidence on deck and learn invaluable skills from our experienced crew. This is a hands-on voyage with full immersion into the ship’s daily routines and watch system.

If you are working your way towards the 2500 qualifying miles needed for a RYA Yachtmaster exam then this passage is a good way of getting to that target quickly and with considerably more comfort than a small yacht. If this is your aim, remember it will give you open ocean experience.  Or you may just be an adventurer, who wants to try something new and escape the rat race to experience life on the open waves.

During the voyage you will be spilt up into watches, the normal duty rota is four hours on duty and eight off but this may vary with circumstances and crew abilities. This is a long voyage and you will get into the rhythm of an Ocean Passage with time to unwind. If you like to keep busy then there is always ships maintenance to help with.

As with all Blue Clipper’s sailing holidays, your ticket price includes Breakfast, Lunch, Dinner, Snacks and Soft Drinks. There are six ensuite twin cabins and one six-berth cabin with a shared bathroom.  All cabins have bedding and towels provided.

As this is an active adventure holiday, we advise that everyone has the appropriate personal accident travel insurance whilst onboard in addition to standard travel insurance which would cover you in the time between making your booking and departing for your adventure. These policies can sometimes be combined so please check with your travel insurance provider.
