This stunning English peninsula is famous for its relaxed way of life, beautiful coastline and great sailing. Join Cherokee from Falmouth for this Westcountry exploration.
This voyage will be leaving from Falmouth in Cornwall – recently named the best place to live in the UK!
With its vibrant university town and excellent bars and restaurants, we’d recommend arriving a day or two early to really soak up this wonderful atmosphere. From beautiful Falmouth, we sail past medieval harbours on the southwest coast of England. Stopping at ports such as Fowey and Charlestown, both featured in the hit TV show Poldark, there is plenty to discover on land and at sea. Keep your eyes peeled for dolphins and basking sharks, as well as a huge variety of seabirds.
This is a unique sailing area for Cherokee and is one of her skipper Jouke’s, favourite places to sail. When he first discovered these waters a few years ago, he was amazed by the untouched beauty of the towns, cliffs and beaches – a real must-visit!

In 2008, Jouke Lemmer purchased Cherokee after spending years sailing his father’s ship amongst others. The youngest in our fleet, Cherokee was built in 2000 by award-winning boat builders J & J design. A year after buying her, Jouke refitted Cherokee radically, transforming her into a truly comfortable charter vessel, giving her a cutter rig and space for a generator so as to offer his passengers power and hot showers!
She is a fast, 16m vessel with a stunning teak deck and spacious cockpit, and she operates with two crew members (her skipper and the bosun/chef). Cherokee is exceptionally good at what she was built to do – pure sailing.
Jouke sails his ship all over the northern hemisphere, leaving Cherokee’s home port of Rotterdam in May and sailing over to the Channel Islands, the Faroe Islands and the Shetlands before making the journey back to Holland in October. Join him and his wonderful ship for the adventure of a lifetime – think exhilarating sailing, bucket list destinations and top notch hospitality.
