Sail with modern yacht Cherokee from Tenerife to Gran Canaria to explore the Canary Islands. Experience a hidden side to the Canary islands away from the popular tourist hustle and bustle.
Life at Sea
No experience is needed to climb aboard – just a lust for adventure! Get involved with hoisting the sails, taking the helm and some basic navigation along the way. Cherokee is a modern yacht so she is much easier to sail than some of our “hands on” tall ships meaning there is plenty of opportunity to sit back and enjoy the views.
Sailing in the Canary Islands
With a constant North Easterly wind and with the spring-like temperature this time of year, perfect sailing conditions are ensured at the Canary Islands. Set the sails to the island of La Gomera. Depending on the wind, your first destination is likely to be the charming town of San Sebastian, where we will stay a day for an excursion inland.
Sail further to the south side of Tenerife and from there to the harbour Puerto Mogan, on the island of Gran Canaria. Spend a day in Puerto Mogan to visit the beautiful sand dunes of Las Maspalomas before sailing up the coast to the harbour Las Nieves.
On the last day Cherokee sail around the North coast of Gran Canaria to the large port of Las Palmas, where you can end the sailing trip with Tapas and a beer!
