Sail from Brixham to Falmouth to explore the Devon and Cornish coasts on tall ship Maybe

Your adventure sailing holiday aboard Maybe will begin in the sweet fishing town of Brixham on the South Devon coast.

Maybe’s voyage will take you west along the English coast, passing Blackpool and Slapton Sands before reaching Salcombe and Plymouth. You might stop at any of these harbour towns, with time to go ashore and explore. As you continue down the Cornish coast – watch out for Poldark being filmed in Charlestown, and if you get the chance, be sure to go ashore in Fowey and wander through the narrow streets, steeped in history.

As you round St. Anthony Head, Maybe will be greeted by not one but two Tudor castles guarding the entrance to Carrick Roads – here, you will manoeuvre the yacht through the busy port to a berth in the lovely maritime town of Falmouth where you will disembark.

During your sailing holiday adventure, be sure to keep the binoculars close; with porpoises and dolphins often playing in ships’ wake, make sure you’ve got your eyes peeled on the water as well as on the land for the native seabirds – guillemots, kittiwakes, kestrels and gulls.

Your ticket price includes Breakfast, Lunch, Dinner and soft drinks. Bedding is provided – you just need to bring your own towels.

Simply click “Enquire Now” to reserve your berth for five days whilst you sort your travel plans. No booking form or deposit is required until you are ready to book!

Guest berths: 14 Rig: Gaff Ketch

Built in 1929, classic boat Maybe is a beautifully shaped 28m gaff ketch. A strong sea-worthy vessel, she is built with extra strength using steel frames, a hardwood hull and teak decking.

She has a rather famous history, once being owned by Jan Jacob Van Rietschoten, father of the flying Dutchman, Cornelis ‘Conny’ Van Rietschoten. Having spent most of her life privately owned sailing around the world, she has been owned by her present owners since 1989.

After a complete overhaul in 2007 and a restoration to her original Gaff rig in 2011, she now spends her springs in Scotland, summer days sailing in Tallship races and winters keeping warm in Spain and Portugal.
