Join Trinovante in her home sailing grounds for a weekend exploring the Thames Estuary.
Steeped in sailing history and tradition, it’s one of the last places in the UK where you will see traditionally rigged boats with fishing smacks and sailing barges racing here throughout the season.
In the quiet river anchorages, you will hear the distinctive call of oystercatchers and other wading birds feeding on the mudflats as the tide ebbs and flows. Just a day sail up the coast, you’ll be part of the busy commercial activity on the River Orwell at Felixstowe, the largest container port in the country.
Trinovante will head out of Ipswich Haven Marina on the first afternoon to moor alongside Half Penny Pier in Harwich. The most likely route from there on this leg is to sail down the Wallet and past the Gunfleet wind farm to either the River Colne or Blackwater. From there we may head to the Swale or our favourite anchorage off Southend Pier.
From this anchorage, Trinovante will head up the Thames to London taking in all the iconic sights as we go. It is a fair way and we have timed this leg so we’ll have the tide under us and will arrive just before high water. Our final berth at Tower Bridge puts our schooner right in the heart of London.
As with all our sailing holidays, the exact itinerary will depend on the weather and tides will be chosen each day by your skipper to make the best use of the weather conditions. All meals and hot/soft drinks and hire of waterproofs are included in your ticket price.

As this is an active adventure holiday, we advise that everyone has the appropriate personal accident travel insurance whilst onboard in addition to standard travel insurance, which would cover you in the time between making your booking and departing for your adventure.
