After joining Cherokee in the Irish port of Portrush, guests will get to know their floating home for the next week and settle down for dinner before setting sail the next morning.
Sail past the island of Rathlin, Northern Ireland’s only inhabited offshore island and home to a spectacular array of wildlife. Continuing down the coast of the Emerald Isle, Cherokee might stop at Glenarm. This coastal town is surrounded by rolling fields and thick woodland – guests will be able to go ashore and take a walk through this landscape that seems so different from that of Scotland.
The weather will determine where Cherokee will anchor for the duration of this trip but rest assured her Skipper Jouke knows this coastline well and loves to find hidden secluded bays off the beaten track to explore. Cherokee’s final stop before Belfast could be Carrickfergus – one of the oldest towns in all of Ireland, whose castle is well worth a visit.
Cherokee will port in Belfast, and we highly recommend that rather than just embarking on your journey home you indulge yourself in some of the city’s immense history – from the Titanic Museum to black cab tours, explaining The Troubles of Ireland and its people.
