Brixham Regatta Day Sailing Sat – Our Daddy

Join Our Daddy in the traditional fishing village of Brixham, located on the beautiful South Devon Coast. This weekend marks the annual Brixham Heritage Regatta where classic, traditional and heritage boats will flock into the harbour and spend the weekend racing and sharing stories! Fishing trawlers first raced from Brixham as far back as the 1800’s but since 1997, the event has been open to all classic and traditional vessels and has become a highlight in the sailing calendar.

This day sail offers you the best vantage point for all the vessels arriving for the weekend. Sail out into the bay and whichever way the wind takes you, your day sailing on this historic lugger won’t disappoint. Heading either East or West will see you sail past a coastline designated for its Outstanding Natural Beauty with plenty of places to anchor for lunch. There are often dolphins swimming across the Bay in the wake of the bows and on the rare occasion, pilot whales have also been spotted so don’t forget your binoculars!

Tim and Steve have been sailing this coast for years and used to run their own sailing school so you couldn’t be in safer hands! They also pride themselves on the food served aboard, with a delicious Tapas style lunch, endless Tea or Coffee, cake and biscuits included in the price. They certainly won’t leave you going hungry!

Whether you’re a seasoned solo sailor or a family looking to do something a bit different with your weekend, Our Daddy can cater for all ages and abilities.

Once departed, why not stay in Brixham and enjoy the rest of the weekend on land with much merriment, plenty of live music and even a firework display at approximately 9.30pm.  If you fancy getting involved in the racing itself, Our Daddy will be taking part in the racing on the Sunday and invites guests to get involved too!

As this is an active adventure holiday, we advise that everyone has the appropriate personal accident travel insurance whilst onboard in addition to standard travel insurance, which would cover you in the time between making your booking and departing for your adventure. These policies can sometimes be combined, so please check with your travel insurance provider.
