Steve and Tim

Our Daddy is jointly owned and skippered by Steve Styles and Tim Sunderland. Both have been hands-on with all her renovation work so they know almost every inch of the boat.

Former owners of Brixham sea school both Steve and Tim are experienced Yachtsmen and both work at Britannia Royal Naval College as sailing instructors.  

Steve, an RYA Yachtmaster instructor and examiner, has been sailing professionally since 2007 but has over 30 years of sailing experience. He has raced and cruised all over the UK and Europe.  His passion for wildlife, marine life and his zeal for imparting knowledge of sailing is truly infectious.  He ensures that all participants are comfortable and included, irrespective of their background, age or experience.  

Tim is an RYA Yachtmaster instructor who also has over 30 years of sailing experience. He has undertaken many yacht deliveries and cruised extensively around the UK and Mediterranean. An accomplished cook who enjoys cooking for all tastes, his patience and personable style is a firm favourite. Tim is Our Daddy’s trusty engineer; if it breaks he can usually fix it, be it mechanical, electrical or wood!

The History of

Our Daddy

Our Daddy was built in Looe Cornwall in 1921 by local boat builder Dick Pearce. She was commissioned by the Pengelly family and built to join their fleet of fishing boats.
