Zorba’s History
One evening 15 years ago, after a 10 hour working day for a big corporation, Skipper Greg sat down in front of the computer and wanted to buy some Wellingtons online. A few hours later he end up buying a sailing boat instead and that is how this adventure began (Wellingtons are still on the list!).
“Happy is the man, I thought, who, before dying, has the good fortune to sail the Aegean sea”
Nikos Kazantzakis, Zorba the Greek
ZORBA is not only the name of Aga and Greg’s boat, it’s the philosophy behind it: You only have one life so enjoy every minute of it and create wonderful memories – that’s how one can sum up the adventures of Zorba the Greek written by Nikos Kazantzakis. Owners and skippers, Aga and Greg share his love for Greece – the slow life, marvellous sunny landscape and kind people with unbreakable optimism. They appreciate beauty of the nature, joy of life, good music and great food. So when you are on board of Zorba, naturally you begin to share this philosophy and feel it’s good influence.
“I felt once more how simple and frugal a thing is happiness: a glass of wine, a roast chestnut, a wretched little brazier, the sound of the sea. Nothing else.”
― Nikos Kazantzakis, Zorba the Greek
Aga and Greg both changed their lives completely, leaving behind their stressful jobs with long working hours and no time for family or friends. Zorba is not only where they met, but also where they began a new chapter called “joy” in their lives.
