The Baltic Sea
This Baltic Sea sailing voyage is a great way to get a taste of a seafaring adventure: at this time of the year, only low waves and moderate wind speeds are to be expected in the area of the Western Baltic Sea. the wind and weather will very much dictate the exact itinerary but will see Iris exploring the German coast and the surrounding Danish islands.
Get to grips with life on board a traditional tall ship as you set the sails, take the helm and learn some basic rope-work. The Southern Danish Sea offers some great winds for sailing, sheltered coves for anchoring ready to explore the hundreds of islands and skerries that make up this fairytale landscape.
The coasts and islands of Denmark are full of quaint Scandinavian harbour villages with wooden cabins lining the shorefront. Explore castle ruins and enjoy exhilarating Baltic Sea sailing before finishing in the port of Kiel.

Guest berths: 10 Rig: Ketch
Commissioned as a herring drifter in the North Sea over 100 years ago, Iris has been giving a new lease of life, converted into a comfortable charter vessel and now spends her summers sailing guests on the Baltic Sea.
Her traditional ketch rig combined with her sturdy steel hull make her a great tall ship to learn the ropes and get involved with all aspects of sailing such a historic vessel.
Sleeping 10 guests in 5 private twin cabins, she has generous and considered communal spaces below decks. Guests can relax in the large saloon with dining area, separate sofa area and even a small onboard library! A designated chef cooks all meals aboard in the spacious galley so after a day of exhilarating sailing on the water, you’ll be treated to delicious home-cooked, fresh meals.
Iris is perfect for those seeking an adventure sailing experience exploring the coasts and islands of Sweden and Denmark, crossing the Bay of Biscay or discovering the Breton coast.More about Iris

A typical day
Begin the day with breakfast at 8am before discussing the plan and then setting to work, hoisting the sails. Spend the morning exploring the coast under sail, feeling the force of the wind power in the sails and switching off from the demands of the modern world.
The onboard chef will serve lunch at about midday whether under sail or anchored in a secluded bay. Depending on the forecast, spend the afternoon tucking some more sea miles under your belt or exploring ashore before dinner at 7pm.
