Bonnie Lynn was built upon the dream of the original owners, Earl and Bonnie Mackenzie, who sought the perfect charter vessel that was seaworthy, comfortable, and traditionally influenced.

Her design is a heavily modified version of the Trade Rover Schooner by Merritt Walter.  Her hull was built by Treworgy Yachts in Palm Coast, Florida, and her interior and rig were completed on Islesboro, Maine.  After her launch in 1998, Earl and Bonnie spent the next decade chartering between Maine and the Caribbean.  In 2005, Bonnie Lynn sailed across the Atlantic Ocean, spending a season in Scotland, Ireland, and Portugal, before returning to the Caribbean in 2006.  She continued to sail on the East Coast of the U.S. for another 15 years, offering private charters and seamanship programs for all ages.

In 2023, Hannah Miller and Erick Tichonuk purchased Bonnie Lynn to add her to their summer day charter fleet in Greenport, NY.  In the winters, they sail to the Bahamas and the Caribbean to offer multi-day charters.
